As if two misbegotten Hulk films weren’t enough, Mark Ruffalo (the newest actor to face gamma radiation) has suggested that there may be future stand-alone Hulk films following the upcoming Marvel all-star picture, The Avengers. Oh, great.

The Playlist has quoted the actor as saying:

“They set up several pictures over a couple of years and possibly there will be a ‘Hulk‘ movie. There’ll probably be a couple more ‘Avengers‘ too, which would be fun.”

His statement is a bit premature as any future films in either series will be dependent on the box office performance of The Avengers which will hit theaters in 2012. With the upcoming slate of Marvel features (Thor, Captain America) featuring heroes that have yet to prove themselves as viable film commodities and Iron Man 2 failing to capture the glory of its predecessor, it is definitely interesting to see where Marvel will head as its deal with Disney looms nearer.

If The Avengers does take off, however, will they really want to take a chance on a third solo Hulk film in a 10 year period? It seems beyond belief they gave the big green guy a second chance after the massive failure of the first film, so anything can happen.

Do you want another stand-alone Hulk film or are you starting to feel the fatigue of a saturated super hero climate?
