Days after Angelina Jolie walked out on his space drama Gravity, more Cuaron news has come to the surface. The film: The Boy And His Shoe. What’s it about: “The film follows a young French girl who happens to cross paths with two Scottish gypsy boys while with her family on a summer trip.” [Gordon and the Whale]
Charlotte Gainsbourg, Guillaume Canet, and Daniel Auteuil are reportedly set to star in the film, and the casting was completed somewhere around a year with the intention of shooting soon after. That clearly did not happen.
With Gravity currently stalled due to Jolie’s drop-off, is The Boy And His Shoe next?
It doesn’t matter. Both projects sound interesting and Cuaron is one of the most interesting filmmakers working today. Please make another movie, Alfonso. And soon.
