First Trailer For SXSW Hit ‘Eden’ Sees Jamie Chung Caught In Prostitution Ring

While her feature film career thus far has been relegated to poor WB tentpoles like The Hangover Part II and Sucker Punch, as well as generic genre entries like Sorority Row and The Man with the Iron Fists, actress Jamie Chung was finally given a chance to prove herself at last year’s South by Southwest Film Festival with a new drama and we’ve now got the first trailer from the film today.

Based on a true story, Eden comes from director/co-writer Megan Griffiths and follows Chung as a teenager who has been sold into a prostitution and drug trafficking ring. Receiving strong reviews out of last year’s festival, this one easily looks to deliver Chung’s most substantial performance yet, so hopefully it gets recognized when it hits theaters next month. Check out the promising trailer and poster below for the film also starring Matt O’Leary and Beau Bridges.

Synopsis:

Eden, a young Korean-American girl, is abducted near her home and forced into prostitution by a domestic human and drug trafficking ring. Throughout the two years she is held, Eden reluctantly ensures her own survival by carving out power and influence within the very organization that has imprisoned her. Inspired by a harrowing true story, EDEN peers into the darkest corners of America and attempts to discover the humanity within.

Eden opens on March 20th.
