As we highlighted, Wes Anderson brought together one of the best ensembles of the year for his latest project, Moonrise Kingdom, and it looks like his knack for surrounding himself with great talent will only continue through 2013. Production in Europe is gearing up to begin any moment for The Grand Budapest Hotel, his Hungary-set period piece inspired by the work of Billy Wilder and Ernst Lubitsch, and now we’ve got the cast confirmed, as well as some strong new additions.

Set around 85 years ago, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law and Jason Schwartzman have previously been confirmed, and now we’ve got word straight from Anderson regarding the rest of the ensemble. Speaking with THR, the director confirmed  that Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Edward Norton are also part of the cast.

That’s not all though, as Moonrise Kingdom players Tilda Swinton and Harvey Keitel have been added, as well as F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus) and Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). While no specific details were given, Anderson confirms that Ronan “has quite a big part” and that he has “a good group.” Hopefully we’ll get more information soon as production kicks off in January for a likely late 2013 release or sometime in 2014, but it’s hard to dream of a better cast for this one.

What do you think of Anderson’s latest stellar ensemble?
