As is usually the case come the fall season, a mountain of biopics will crowd the marketplace. While a number are certain to feel like egregious awards bait, a select few have our curiosity based on the talent involved and the figure(s) they are bringing to life. One example is Legend, which follows Hardy taking on the dual roles of twins Ron and Reggie Kray and their reign of crime in the 1960’s as told in John Pearson’s book The Profession of Violence.

For those only vaguely familiar with the story behind the gangster brothers, today we have the documentary Flesh And Blood – The Story Of The Krays. Made just after Peter Medak‘s 1990 drama on the twins, while they were both still alive, it chronicles their upbringing and experience with boxing, owning a nightclub, and eventually a full-blown, extremely violent life of crime.

As we await the film from writer-director Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential) with a cast featuring Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald, and Taron Egerton, check out the documentary below, along with a new trailer, poster, and interview with the brothers.

From Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. LEGEND is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray Twins.
