With his upcoming film Joe (now set for a release on April 11th, our review here), David Gordon Green is looking to give Nicolas Cage one of his most promising roles in years, but he didn’t stop there. Concluding production last year, Manglehorn looks to rejuvenate the career of Al Pacino, a great actor who has been in somewhat of a rut the last few years. With the film currently shopping around at the European Film Market, we now have the first still, which can be seen above.
Also starring Holly Hunter, Chris Messina and Harmony Korine, the story, co-written with Paul Logan, follows our lead character A.J. Manglehorn as an older man who is tied to his daily routine, but we soon learn is an ex-con with a dark past. We’d expect a possible Cannes or fall festival debut for the film, which should hopefully pick up distribution for a 2015 release.
Are you looking forward the project?
