The news of the film suggested it, the poster hinted at it and here comes the cold hard fact. Yahoo has released the teaser trailer for the forthcoming Yogi Bear CGI/Live-Action 3-D hybrid starring Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake as Yogi and Boo-Boo respectively, along with Tom Cavanagh, Anna Faris and T.J. Miller as their real-life Jellystone Park counterparts.

If I’m being completely honest with myself, this thing doesn’t look so bad. And it’s not like Yogi Bear‘s sacred property by any means, or hated property either. It seems perfectly sensible they would make this for the silver screen. The non-sensical part comes in the way they’ve brought it to the screen. Hybrids like this don’t tend to work without someone like Weta (District 9, Avatar) doing the digital effects.
By all accounts, this was a Weta-less post-production process. Anyone remember when Dan Aykroyd was in Trading Places and The Blues Brothers? Le sigh.
