In today’s age, if you’re not Paranormal Activity, Insidious, or something of the ilk, it seems Hollywood has little interest in the horror genre. Instead, fans must turn to more modest offerings or foreign imports to get their scare on and the latest comes in the form of a sequel. After premiering at Sundance in 2005, Australia’s Wolf Creek headed to Cannes and beyond, becoming a cult hit. Nearly a decade later we now have its follow-up and today, the first trailer has arrived.
Marking the return of director Greg Mclean, along with John Jarratt as serial killer Mick Taylor, a new group of unsuspecting tourists are game. The franchise also continued its prestigious festival showings, with Wolf Creek 2 first bowing out of competition at Venice this fall. Reviews seemed to indicate it was a worthy sequel, but doesn’t reach the height of the original, with this first trailer following suit. Check it out below.
Wolf Creek 2 hits Australia on February 20th, but doesn’t have U.S. distribution yet.
