After seeing director Arvin Palep‘s 10-minute teaser presentation, which blended “VFX with storyboards and live-action footage,” Universal has begun production on the sci-fi feature Prosthesis, with Gotham Group as well as 1stAveMachine producing. [Variety]

Palep is the co-creator of the multimedia production banner, 1stAveMachine, alongside Serge Patzak, who will also produce the film with Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson. After such a compelling sell, it would seem that more information would be presented about the project; but, “details of the world Palep has created for Prosthesis are being kept under wraps.” However, it will “rely on Palep‘s ability to create immersive worlds parallel to our own.”

Robinson shed some light on the project, calling it “an epic, in the purest sense of the word.” In regards to the film’s creator, he stated that “[his] vision and take on the human condition will blow audiences away.” With strong statements like these, it’s always hard to determine if they are actually true or just figment of the collaborator’s imaginations. Probably a mixture of the two.
