There’s something about Marcus Nispel‘s Conan the Barbarian update that feels been there, done that. The action looks recycled, the characters look wooden, and the addition of 3D finds it hard to muster up any sort of excitement. The red band trailer seems to be as good as we are going to get, as a new UK trailer is just more of the same.
The film stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Ron Perlman, and you can see the new trailer below via HeyUGuys. It looks like there will be a lot of false grit, sweat, and blood as men yell and play swords.
Synopsis:
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
Conan The Barbarian hits theaters August 19th, 2011.
