In a recent post on director Michael Bay‘s official website, it was announced that 2 of the upcoming scenes in Transformers 3 will take place in very prominent cities:

Nelson here…

Spoke with Michael today and got some little info on TF3: there will be big action sequences shot in Chicago and Moscow this time around.

Also, Mike will match the amount raised by the TF2 DVD/Blu-ray sales for the Make A Wish Foundation.

While there is still no news on whether or not this film will be in 3D, this intrigues me. In the second film, when they had a scene that took place in Tokyo, they decided to shoot it in a refinery instead of actually going there.  Hopefully this means that Bay is putting some more time and effort into this one.

Transformers 3 hits theaters July 1st, 2011.

What do you think of this recent update? Are you looking forward to Transformers 3?
