The next Robert Zemeckis picture is very anticipated around these parts, and so it’s with interest that we post a new, IMAX-ified trailer and two featurettes for The Walk. The former is, you might guess, a showcase for the large-scale format’s relationship with Philippe Petit‘s high-wire work, though about half of this is conversational / expository material carried out in rooms. Given the way it’s been emphasized in previews — and considering that it’ll open this year’s New York Film Festival in an IMAX 3D venue — one expects this will be of the utmost importance when all’s said and done.
Following that are two featurettes, neither of which are standard EPK material that don’t open up much about the film but provide some new footage. With it opening in only nine days, though — or if you’re seeing it in just five at NYFF — it might be best to hold off and experience the whole thing more purely.

As a bonus, listen to a one-hour conversation with Zemeckis back at NYFF 2012 for Flight:
The Walk will open the New York Film Festival and arrive in theaters on September 30.
