As promised yesterday with the unveiling of two new posters, following our first teaser trailer earlier this month, Edgar Wright has revealed the first full-length trailer for this summer’s The World’s End. Following up Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, the filmmaker has returned to what he began with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, concluding his Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy.

Led by Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost the film sees them reunite with old friends for an epic bar crawl, but they soon encounter some major opposition. Those fearing spoilers will likely want to turn their eyes from the look below, as we find that humans have seemingly been possessed by a robot/alien force, complete with blue ink-esque goop for blood. Check out the entertaining full-length trailer below for one of our most-anticipated films of the summer.

Synopsis:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Also starring Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and Rosamund PikeThe World’s End will open in the U.K. on July 19th, followed by a U.S. release on August 23.
