With Twilight coming to an end this weekend, at least in its current incarnation, the next work from author Stephenie Meyer is wasting no time coming to the big screen. After a teaser way back in the spring, the full theatrical trailer has now landed for The Host, sci-fi thriller about an evil force inhabiting humans everywhere. As he comes of the disappointing In Time, Gattaca director Andrew Niccol is at the helm.
While I certainly like the concept more than Meyer’s other major work, there’s the feeling that this world is a bit too clean, but hopefully Niccol can sell it — especially with a strong cast. Check it out below via MTV, along with a theatrical poster, for the film also starring Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, William Hurt and Frances Fisher.
Synopsis:
Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.
The Host arrives March 29th, 2013.
