The spiritual Bridesmaids sequel you never knew existed is arriving in theaters this spring and I confirm that it delivers. While the jokes don’t hit as hard and this one has more drama packed in, Friends With Kids is still a relatively enjoyable time at the movies featuring a stellar ensemble cast. Directed by and starring Jennifer Westfeldt, she is joined by Adam Scott, her real-life husband Jon Hamm, as well as more Bridesmaids players such as Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Chris O’Dowd. Megan Fox and Edward Burns also have key supporting roles.

Our first trailer hints at more of romantic-comedy than the film actually is, but it still sells it with out revealing the best bits. I’m glad they only gave us a brief glimpse at the best scene in the film, when the group of friends confront Westfeldt and Scott’s characters for the decision to have a baby, but not a relationship. Synopsis:

Two best friends decide to have a child together while keeping their relationship platonic, so they can avoid the toll kids can take on romantic relationships.
