We first heard of The Strangers director Bryan Bertino‘s Mockingbird back in November, and THR is now reporting on the lead for the Paranormal Activity-esque thriller: Todd Stashwick. Audrey Marie Anderson and Alexandra Lydon have also been pegged for roles.

Formerly known as Red Balloons, the found footage picture “tells the story of a couple who are given a camera and a set of instructions. They must carry out what’s on the document or someone will die.” Stashwick will play the husband, with Anderson as his spouse; we’re not really sure who Lydon will play as of yet. I can see the correlation with Activity, but I’m also feeling a little bit of Saw as well.

Stashwick has played several roles on various TV show including House, CSI: Miami, Burn Notice as well as FX’s Justified. He’ll be seen next in Stephen Gyllenhaal‘s Grassroots, Letting Go, out June 13th, and April Apocalypse.

Jason Blum is producing the upcoming project alongside Adrienne Biddle, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bertino. Shooting for Mockingbird will begin next month in Los Angeles.
