We reported just a few months ago that Vera Farmiga and Andy Garcia were joining forces for the indie dramedy Admissions, and now we’re getting some supporting cast details; Spencer Lofranco, Taissa Farmiga and Nicholas Braun have joined the ensemble. [THR]
The picture follows a man (Garcia) and a woman (Farmiga) who fall in love while they are taking their children on a college admissions tour. Lofranco is set to play Garcia‘s son, while (Taissa) Farmiga will be playing the opposing Farmiga‘s daughter — just as a side note, the pair are actually sisters, with a 21-year age gape. Braun will be playing an “upperclassman who is leading the tour for the prospective incoming freshman class.”
The project was written by Glenn German and Adam Rodgers, who will also be directing. Aside from this project, Lofranco has only been cast in one other movie — a crime thriller titled Jamesy Boy, out sometime next year. And if you’re a fan of FX’s American Horror Story, you’ll surely recognize Farmiga, as she plays Violet. She’ll also play a role in Boy, as well as Sofia Coppola‘s upcoming Bling Ring, opposite Emma Watson. As for Braun, he seems to be the most seasoned out of the trio, with roles on various Disney Channels movies like Sky High and Minutemen. He’ll be seen next in the adaptation of Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Production for Admissions will begin in July in Spokane, Washington.
