Update: Matt Damon recently spoke with Vulture, confirming that he has reteamed with Terry Gilliam for a “very small part” that will amount to three days of shooting. Check out the original story below.
Barring any of his usual mishaps, it won’t be long before we see another film from Terry Gilliam. While his Don Quixote never getting off the ground, he moved to the intriguing project of Zero Theorem. Already fleshing out a fantastic cast including Christoph Waltz, Melanie Thierry, David Thewlis and Tilda Swinton, we’ve got two more additions coming today.
Straight from the director’s Facebook page, he has announced Peter Stormare and Sanjeev Bhaskar have both joined the cast, playing “two parts at the same time.” Already quite familiar with the director, the former actor has worked with Gilliam on The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Brothers Grimm, while the latter goes all the way back to Monty Python days. Aside from sharing an odd picture, there’s no other specific details on their roles.
As for the film, it tells the story of “an eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence — or the lack thereof — once and for all.” Waltz will play said computer genius, which Gilliam describes his character as, “literally living in this burnt-out chapel which one could take as a metaphor for old beliefs and old systems.” He went on to say that, “he’s a computer genius but he’s just sitting there waiting for a phone call, which he hoping will give meaning to his life…It really is about relationships, and discovering what’s really important in life.” In the meantime, check out another teaser picture Gilliam shared from the set below.
What do you make of these two additions?
