Sometimes you just got to give a man his due. Despite getting up there in years, Sylvester Stallone still has a grasp on the action movie genre and unlike people like Steven Seagal and Wesley Snipes, he continues to make somewhat interesting movies. Well, Sly is headed back into another movie, this time called Headshot, where he will play a hitman from New Orleans who teams with a young NYPD detective to uncover some sinister happenings that reach all the way to Washington D.C. [THR]
Wayne Kramer is handling directing duties, and Headshot will begin production in May. IM Global is behind the production, and will be shopping the title around to the foreign markets during this week’s European Film Market being held in Berlin, Germany. Along with Headshot, IM Global is also helping to shop around Red State and Zombie’s next flick The Lords of Salem. Yes, Red State is getting help from someone that isn’t Kevin Smith or his SModcast banner, so it’s safe to say the whole four wall D.I.Y. shtick only counts in the Americas.
To get back on track, my interest is piqued for Headshot; I find a lot of action movies boring nowadays, but Stallone has the charisma to keep me entertained even when the story or the rest of the nonsense going on can’t. I just hope Kramer isn’t a shaky cam enthusiast or it’ll sink the flick Expandables-style.
Sly Stallone’s headed back to a screen near you and in something he didn’t have a hand in himself. You excited, or do you wish he’d just stop?
