There’s a pair I never thought I’d ever see on screen; THR broke the story yesterday that Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand have signed on to star in My Mother’s Curse, a road trip comedy for Paramount Pictures. This road-trip movie will star Rogen as an inventor who is planning to travel cross country to sell his latest product. Being the wonderful son he is, he invites his mother (Streisand) to come along with him. However, he has ulterior motives besides just looking for company; he also wants to reunite his mother with a long-lost love. Compelling stuff? Not so much, but a pleasant enough story.

Here’s where we get dicey; Anne Fletcher has been tapped to direct. What is she behind exactly? Well, 27 Dresses and The Proposal of course! Did you shudder? You’re not alone; while I’m all for another Rogen movie (I will not give up on him!), the fact that Fletcher AND Streisand are involved don’t really get my juices flowing so to speak.

My Mother’s Curse will begin production this spring and will be released at some point eventually I’m sure. If you’ve got a girlfriend by the time this gets released, be ready to see it and groan…much like you did when you were dragged to 27 Dresses and The Proposal.

So, Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand are going to be in the same movie. How many jokes do you think will be related to being Jewish? I’m betting three hundred million, but that’s a conservative estimate.
