UPDATE: Rourke IS in the film as Whiplash.
Remember a while back when Mickey Rourke was in negotiations to be in Iron Man 2? Well, it seems that no longer will be the case. In news that can only be described as somewhat puzzling and very disappointing, it seems that Rourke will not appear in the film at all. A New York Magazine article quotes Rourke as saying, “Right now, we’re not doing Iron Man 2.”
I’m pretty disappointed, considering I was stoked to see Rourke in Iron Man 2. While I don’t think that this necessarily means the movie will turn out badly, I also don’t think that its a good sign that Marvel is losing out on good, solid actors for their film properties.
