With David Fincher narrowing down his lengthy and extensive search for a Lisbeth Salander, he still has the rest of his The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo line-up to worry about. He can worry a little less, as two supporting actors are in talks for the film.
Robin Wright (Moneyball, The Conspirator) is negotiating to play Erika Berger, “the publisher of crusading finance magazine Millennium, and the occasional lover of journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig).” [Deadline]
Stellan Skarsgard (Pirates of the Caribbean, Thor) is also in negotiations with Sony to play Martin Vanger, “the president of the Vanger Corporation, which much of the story revolves around, and a key suspect in a series of terrible murders.” [Variety (via The Playlist)]
Both of the actors would have an option for sequels, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set to begin production this fall for a December 21, 2011 release.
