Kristen Stewart‘s Snow White has found the last of her dwarves. We reported last night that Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan and Stephen Graham joined Deadwood star Ian McShane in the dwarf troupe. THR now reports that Sexy Beast, The Departed, The Proposition, and most recently Rango star, Ray Winstone, has now filled out the cast. Check out previous details below.
Don’t expect the same characters as the Disney classic, instead the names of Roman leaders, as McShane plays Caeser, the head of the dwarves, while Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger) will play a “timid dwarf named Claudius” and Izzard (Cars 2) will be Tiberius, “the biggest and burliest of the crew.”Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) plays the blind dwarf Constantine. Graham is an “angry-looking dwarf named Nero” while Winstone is Trajan, the twin brother of Marsan’s Hadrian.
Directed by Rupert Sanders and also starring Thor himself Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron., the film takes a revisionist twist on the famous fable, Snow White is “a princess who escapes her evil stepmother with the help of a huntsman who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.”
Winstone is a fantastic addition, although I wish he would choose more promising projects than this one. At least he still has Martin Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret coming this November. Snow White and Huntsman begins production this August in Europe for a June 1st, 2012 release.
What do you think of Winstone becoming a dwarf?
