There’s still a week to go before its wide release in America, but Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus opened today overseas. Now, Fox has released a new IMAX poster (via Collider) and four preview clips (via HitFix) to help keep the hype up while we wait to see what’s really going on in the new sci-fi thriller. Check them out below — but, warning, the clips are fairly spoiler-ish, so beware if you want to go into the film completely blind.

Though early reviews have been divisive, the clips definitely helped keep me interested in the material. The preview footage covers some familiar ground, highlighting Charlize Theron as an uptight suit sent to monitor the Prometheus project, and Noomi Rapace & Logan Marshall-Green as archaeologists searching for the origins of humanity. (They, instead, discovering something far more horrifying.) The general mystery aspect is great, though the android, David (Michael Fassbender), has become the most interesting part of the film for me; his conversation with Charlie on their respective creators continues Scott‘s exploration of robot development, previously showcased in Blade Runner and Alien.
It’ll be interesting to see how David’s possibly duplicitous motives (and general creepiness) figure into the overall story. The new graphic is as gorgeous as the previously-released marketing material, and I love that Scott‘s returning to the sci-fi genre at long last. Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Prometheus is going to be a hell of a ride.
