Paramount has picked up the rights to adapt the upcoming book Gideon’s Sword, the first in a series written by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Variety is reporting. They have allowed for action master Michael Bay to produce the film through his own company Bay Films.
There isn’t very much to say about this one’s plot and all I know is that it the initial book in a series called Gideon Crew. The two authors frequent the best-seller list and dance around the horror/thriller genre. Keep in mind the book hasn’t been published yet.
Meanwhile, Bay is directing/producing Transformers 3 which hits theaters July 2011.
