Sure, we’ve shown you 125 HD screencaps from the trailer, but we have yet to receive a single official image from J.J. Abrams‘ Super 8. That all changes today, as we were sent the 2011 Paramount Summer Preview Kit. The only “new” images are the one above, which we’ve seen from the trailer, but it is interesting to see what the studio is releasing as the first official look.

Synopsis: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
Super 8 hits IMAX theaters on June 10th, 2011. Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits July 1st.
