According to First Showing, two more actors have joined the cast of Paul W.S. Anderson‘s upcoming 3D production of The Three Musketeers. The newcomers are Orlando Bloom (last seen in Sympathy for Delicious) and the prominent television actor James Corden. The film’s cast already includes the likes of Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, and Matthew Macfadyen. The script was co-written by Andrew Davies and Alex Litvak.
Summit Entertainment has picked up the film for a summer 2011 release, with filming scheduled to begin this September. Producer-director Anderson has hit a bit of a rough patch in recent years, both critically and commercially, and this project, in terms of its cast and its premise, does not strike me as a film that can change that rough streak.
Do you think Anderson’s Three Musketeers will be a success?
