After teaming for the excellent Greenberg earlier this year, writer/director Noah Baumbach and actor Ben Stiller are working together again on While We’re Young. Vulture is reporting that James Franco is also attached to star and there are offers out to Cate Blanchett and another Greenberg star, Greta Gerwig. Scott Rudin, who worked with Baumbach on Fantastic Mr. Fox, Margot at the Wedding, and Greenberg will return to produce. Check out the short synopsis below:
A free-spirited Brooklynite twenty-something couple (Franco — and, possibly, Gerwig) who inspire an uptight documentarian (Stiller) and his wife (possibly Blanchett) to loosen up — with comedic consequences.
That’s all we have for now. Baumbach recently worked on the script for Brett Ratner‘s Tower Heist, which is currently filming in NYC and he also has the rumored project, The Emperor’s Children. From the sounds of it, he will work on this. I’ve loved all of his films, even Margot at the Wedding, so I can’t wait for this.
Are you a Baumbach fan? What do you think of this cast?
