Often overlooked or seemingly misunderstood by most audiences, editing can make or break a film. Aside from its category in the Oscar ceremony, American Cinema Editors gather together to select their favorites of the year with ACE Eddie Awards.
Today brings the 2015 nominations, which includes not five, but six this year in the dramatic category thanks to a tie. They include some of the best examples of the year with Gone Girl, Whiplash, Nightcrawler, and Boyhood. On the comedy side, Inherent Vice, Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and more got recognized. Ahead of the ACE Eddie Awards on January 30th, check out the nominees below, which also includes documentaries and animations.
