Relativity Media has found a Season for their Witch, as the Nicolas Cage action/fantasy was moved at the last minute last spring. It will open at the prime box office/critical disaster spot of the first week of January.

Director Dominic Sena‘s last film, Whiteout, was a bomb both box-office wise and critically, but he was also behind Gone In Sixty Seconds and Swordfish. In his latest, Nicolas Cage joins Ron Perlman “as a pair of medieval knights ordered to accompany a mysterious young woman (Claire Foy) accused of witchcraft to a remote abbey for trial. The journey will test their strength and courage as they discover the secret of the woman’s power and find themselves fighting a battle of biblical proportions.”

Season of the Witch hits theaters January 7th, 2011.
