“To contrast the terror and dread, there’s also a mind-boggling scene of the Creation story, as told by Noah to his family. In a sequence that recalls The Tree of Life, we see the six days of Creation told in time-lapse photography as a presentation of traditional evolutionary theory overseen by a divine hand. From a technical and stylistic standpoint, Aronofsky has never painted with a larger brush, or achieved such grand wonders,” we said in our review of Noah a few months ago.
With the film crossing the $330 million mark globally, and still playing in just under 1,000 theaters here in the United States, Darren Aronofsky has decided to make available the stunning, aforementioned sequence. While this sort of montage condensing time has been a staple in his previous works, the events captured have certainly never been grand. So, if you haven’t seen the film, we recommend holding off on the below until you do, but for those that want to revisit, check it out, shared by Aronofsky’s own production company, and listen to our podcast discussion on the film here.
Noah is now in release and available to pre-order on Blu-ray.
