The cycle recommences. Just before Jurassic World was bumped back a year, rumors had swirled that the then-imminent project was of interest to both Bryce Dallas Howard and David Oyelowo — rumors which, with a shift to 2015, just happened to be reduced in plausibility. But, any sorts of shifting in schedules be damned, at least one-half of that team is sticking around, with TheWrap reporting that Howard is beginning to circle for an undisclosed role.
That, unfortunately, is about it. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) will take the reigns from Spielberg and Johnston, working from a screenplay that, though previously reported to have been penned by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), is now coming from the helmer and his Safety scribe, Derek Connolly. Even with this shift in credits, we know largely nothing — save the possibility of a franchise reboot, complete with a new Jurassic Park that’s filled with all kinds of accelerated, computer-generated peril. (Yes, Jurassic World is, literally, “a new Jurassic Park,” but you can grasp the basics of that idea just fine.) We’ll get the full story as things kick off over these next few months, followed by a release on June 12, 2015.
Does Howard’s potential involvement sweeten the deal on Jurassic World?
