At this point, we’re simply expecting the entire cast of Silver Linings Playbook to come aboard the ensemble of David O. Russell‘s currently shooting follow-up. In production around Boston, Massachusetts the untitled Abscam film sees Silver Linings stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper reunite, and now we’ve got another cast memer to add to the ensemble.

According to The Boston Globe, Robert De Niro, who was also nominated for an Oscar in O. Russell’s last film, has joined the cast. His specific role is unknown, but it will reportedly see him in a casino-set scene, the grounds for a clash between Cooper’s FBI character and Christian Bale‘s con artist. That’s not all, however, as actor Michael Pena, coming off Gangster Squad and End of Watch, tweeted his involvement. See below:

Also starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Louis C.K., the film is set in the 1970s and following an FBI sting operation, Eric Warren Singer‘s script circles around the true story of a notorious financial con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner in crime (Adams), who were forced to work with an out of control federal agent (Cooper) to turn the tables on other con artists, mobsters, and politicians. At the epicenter of the entire tale, is the passionate and volatile leader of the New Jersey state assembly (Renner) who is also the local hero and mayor of impoverished Camden.

Hitting theaters on December 13th, one can see photos from the set here.
