Although a fairly silly embargo prevents me from sharing my full thoughts on The Handmaiden, our fall preview should give you an indication that Park Chan-wook‘s twisty, conniving adaptation of Sarah Waters‘ Fingersmith is an essential watch. Ahead of a release in October, one of the film’s best elements, its score, is now available to stream in full.
After Park teamed with Clint Mansell for his English-language debut Stoker, he’s now back with Jo Yeong-wook, who also scored Joint Security Area; Oldboy; I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK; Sympathy for Lady Vengeance; and Thirst. Clocking in at over an hour and spread across 38 tracks, it’s a fittingly playful score, also featuring a few dialogue tracks and soundtrack contributions.
So get out your silver balls and stream the full thing below, with a hat tip to David Ehrlich, along with a new international poster. One can also pick it up on iTunes.
The Handmaiden opens on October 21.
