Ah, Valentine’s Day. That one day of the year where you put some extra effort forth towards the one person you love. Fox has now decided to desecrate the “holiday” by releasing their fifth Die Hard iteration in 2013. May Payne director John Moore is helming the sequel that will be titled A Good Day to Die Hard. /Film also uncovered some more details from Tom Rothman, co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, who appeared on the Jim Rome show this morning. Check out a synopsis below for the film that will start shooting this January.

The story is set in Russia and begins with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail for something he did, but when he gets there, things surrounding his son’s arrest are not as they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue.

Bruce Willis will of course return as our hero, but his son has yet to be cast and the decision of whether it will be PG-13 or R hasn’t been reached. When they announced director I lost any shred of hope I had, and now the dumping ground of February isn’t very promising. Check back for more details as they arrive.

Fox also announced (via BOM) dates for their upcoming slate, which is quite low on originality. Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) will be helming the Taken sequel starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace, which is now set for a October 5th, 2012 release. Check out a synopsis for Taken 2 below and expect the title change to A Good Day to Be Taken soon.

The other notable film is Chris Columbus‘ sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, which will hit theaters on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The film follows our hero as he “continues his epic journey to fulfill his destiny and teams with his demigod friends to retrieve the Golden Fleece, which has the power to save their home and training ground, Camp Half-Blood.”
