With production kicking off earlier this month, one doesn’t have to extensively search to dig up a handful of set photos from Jurassic World, but today Universal Pictures have dropped the first official looks. Above, one can see Bryce Dallas Howard on set, while below there’s a better glimpse of the Hawaiian set, which sees the return of Isla Nublar, as well as a dino-battered vehicle.
Confirmed that the film will indeed use animatronic dinosaurs, rather than the CG creations so prevalent in Hollywood nowadays, director Colin Trevorrow also sat down with Empire to discuss the future of the franchise. As one could guess, he says, “We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot. We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story.”
Giving away more of the story in his currently-shooting film, he added, “It’s about alpha dominance and the fact that humans have been the alpha species for a very long time and so now we’ve brought back another that happened to be the alpha species during its time, and we have to co-exist, so what is that relationship?” Starring Chris Pratt, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Katie McGrath, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus and BD Wong, check out the new images above and below.
