Update: Focus Features have acquired the film for $20 million, Deadline reports.

It was just earlier this week we got the news that George Clooney had come aboard to produce Tom Ford‘s long-awaited follow-up to A Single Man, Nocturnal Animals, now the first word on its ensemble has arrived. An adaptation of Austin Wright‘s book Tony and Susan, it follows two stories, one of a woman who faces dark truths when reminiscing about her first marriage. The other story is found when the woman reads a manuscript from her ex-husband, which follows a man on a family vacation which turns deadly.

First up, Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams are in talks for the respective, aforementioned lead roles, according to Variety. Meanwhile, THR updates that Joaquin Phoenix and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are being looked at for other roles, but they aren’t disclosed. For Gyllenhaal and Adams, who both have worked with Denis Villeneuve, it’ll be their first film together, after planning to star in Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s sophomore feature Ezekiel Moss before his untimely passing last year.

As we await more confirmation on casting, check out the trailer for A Single Man below. One can also watch the full film on Netflix, an experience we highly recommend if you have yet to do so. Production on Ford’s next is aiming to kick off this fall, which means we could see it by next year.

What do you think of the potential cast?
