After successfully transitioning from the animated world into live-action with the highly accomplished Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, director Brad Bird will get his first crack at original material with Tomorrowland. Set to hit theaters in almost exactly a month, Disney have now delivered a new trailer for the sci-fi adventure, along with a featurette which gives us more of the story.
With a script from Damon Lindelof, Bird, and Jeff Jensen, the film centers on Britt Robertson‘s Casey Newtown, a teenager living near Cape Canaveral who comes across a mysterious pin that reveals to her the titular place of wonder. She then connects with George Clooney’s Frank Walker, a shut-in, down-and-out inventor who knows what the girl has seen in her visions, thus beginning the adventure.
Also starring Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson, check out the new trailer, featurette, and batch of posters below.
The sci-fi action-adventure stars Robertson as Casey, an ordinary girl who discovers a mysterious pin that transports her to a futuristic land when she comes into contact with it. She starts to look for clues by searching for a child prodigy (Clooney) from the 1950’s who she believes once journeyed there himself. Once they meet the two embark on a perilous journey across the globe so that they can find the location to the mysterious world known only as Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland opens on May 22nd, 2015.
