Today we have some new images from major upcoming films. First up, we’ll tackle the smallest, with Tim Burton‘s feature-length adaptation of his black-and-white short Frankenweenie. We provided the first looks earlier this fall, but above we see another look at a boy and his dog. Former Burton collaborators Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice), Martin Landau (Ed Wood), andMartin Short (Mars Attacks) will lend their voices to Frankenweenie, which hits theaters October 5, 2012. Burton’s other big 2012 film, Dark Shadows, arrives in May.
Check out the image above and also, thanks to Stitch Kingdom, we have a new still from Pixar’s next feature Brave. The image comes from a scene we’ve seen in the trailer, for the film directed by Mark Andrews (who helmed the Pixar short One Man Band) and features Princess Merida (Kelly MacDonald), Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), The Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and Lord MacIntosh (Craig Ferguson). Brave will arrive on June 22nd.
Just a few days ago we received some high-resolution stills for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, but Warner Bros. has just let loose a few more. We’ve seen these shots before in magazine spreads, but now they are here in full and unmarked. We see one of my favorite promo shots of Tom Hardy as Bane, shrouded in darkness, as well as Christian Bale as Batman with his mysterious device. Even though it was in the IMAX prologue, we still don’t know what it is used for, but my guess is disabling some sort of enemy weapon, or the enemy himself. Check out the stills below.
Last up we have new stills from another big 2012 blockbuster. Columbia Pictures have released a few stills of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man. We see the actress in high school, which reportedly plays a big part in this update. Webb recently said that his film will be “radically different” than the ones that came before, so we’ll see how he handles this setting without being reminded of Sam Raimi‘s trilogy.
