After Darren Aronofsky kicked off the Biblical epics earlier this year with Noah, another acclaimed director will bringing his offering to screens with Exodus: Gods and Kings. Ridley Scott, coming off the sadly underappreciated The Counselor, is returning with his biggest production yet, chronicling the journey of Moses as played by Christian Bale. Ahead of a December release, the first trailer has now landed today.
Specifically following his battle with Pharaoh Ramses to free slaves and escape Egypt, Scott recently told EW, “What I thought I knew about Moses I didn’t really. Either I wasn’t paying attention in Sunday school or I had forgotten. I was knocked out by who he was and the basics of the story—it has to be one of the greatest adventures and spiritual experiences that could ever have been.” Check out a preview of the adventure below with the first trailer for the film also starring Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro, and Aaron Paul, along with new stills and posters.
Exodus: Gods and Kings arrives on December 12th.
