After crafting one of the most immersive found-footage films with Cloverfield, Matt Reeves jumped to the well-crafted, but unnecessary remake Let Me In. For his next effort, however, he’s joining one of the most successful blockbuster franchises. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will hit theaters in less than a month and now 20th Century Fox have dropped a new “final” trailer.
While it’s likely just the beginning before the floodgates open with clips, featurettes, etc. we’ll certainly be steering clear of viewing as we’ve seen enough already and wouldn’t like to spoil. If you’d like peek though, one can find the trailer below, along with the first clip for the film featuring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, and Kirk Acevedo.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens on July 11th.
