Although most likely know him as Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter franchise, and possibly cried like babies when he met his very uncalled for demise (spoiler!), David Thewlis is one of the most dependable actors Hollywood has to offer. So, it comes with great joy that he’s the latest to join Terry Gilliam‘s upcoming project, The Zero Theorem, already including Christoph Waltz, Melanie Thierry and Tilda Swinton. As for the film, it tells the story of “an eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence — or the lack thereof — once and for all.” Waltz will play said computer genius, which Gilliam describes his character as, “literally living in this burnt-out chapel which one could take as a metaphor for old beliefs and old systems.” He went on to say that, “he’s a computer genius but he’s just sitting there waiting for a phone call, which he hoping will give meaning to his life…It really is about relationships, and discovering what’s really important in life.”

After revealing various details about the intricate set he’s been planning last month, it was a nice to see a little treat over at Gilliam‘s official Facebook page just a few days ago. He gave an inside look at the chapel set, which is currently being constructed. Although the picture details the outside of the chapel, the director reassured that, [We’ll] never see this angle in the film.” Check out that photos below.

Shooting for The Zero Theorem kicks off October 22nd.
