It was reported yesterday that Daniel Radcliffe’s first project after the completion of the Harry Potter films will be the adaptation of Nicholas SparksThe Lucky One. The film is to be directed by Doug McGrath with filming scheduled to start in May. It was cleared up today that this news is false. The original information came from a couple of tweet posts by the film’s producer Christine Vachon, who said the following:

Heading to Doug McGrath’s script reading, starring Daniel Radcliffe–
and
Daniel Radcliffe and Lily Rabe were AMAZING together!

According to /Film The Lucky One tells of US Marine Logan Thibault who finds a snapshot of a young woman when on duty in Iraq and feels that it brings him a tidal wave of good luck. After his tour is done and he returns to America, he sets off on a journey to track down the woman in his photograph. She’s Elizabeth, a young mother who is now divorced.

Among his theatre work Radcliffe has kept his resume updated with non-Potter films including December Boys and My Boy Jack so it will be interesting to see where his career heads after Harry Potter.

What do you think of The Lucky One? Who should be cast?
