While they can currently be seen dealing with PTSD and the effects of war in The Railway Man, Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth didn’t waste any time getting back together. Their first reunion is the psychological thriller Before I Go to Sleep, which once again sees them playing a married couple dealing in the realm of memories albeit in a much different genre.
From Brighton Rock director Rowan Joffe, the film is based on S.J. Watson‘s novel and follows Kidman as a woman who suffers from instant memory loss. Mark Strong is also part of the cast as her doctor, who helps Kidman slowly realize that her husband (Firth) is not who she thinks he is. The first trailer for the thriller has some compelling moments, but perhaps looks too borrowed from other features in the same vein. Produced by Ridley Scott, check it out below, along with a trio of posters, for the film we expect to arrive on the fall festival circuit before landing in theaters in September.
Update: Watch a new trailer below.
Before I Go to Sleep arrives on September 12th.
