While Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy may have signaled a welcome new path for the studio, this summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron looks to tread familiar territory as the gang gets back together to fight evil forces. Taking on a more dreary, serious route this time around — if this new trailer is any sort of indication of the final product — we can’t say we’re very excited for the results. Thankfully, there’s more than a few other alternatives.
Coming from Joss Whedon, the follow-up to Marvel’s record-breaking 2012 hit features the return of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders. They’ll go up against James Spader as Ultron, “a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction,” bringing along Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson to help fight. Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time.
