This summer saw one of Woody Allen‘s finest films in a storied career (one which we highlighted from the beginning) and now this fall will bring a special treat, as another work featuring the filmmaker will have its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. Revealed in the line-up today, the first trailer for John Turturro‘s Fading Gigolo has now landed.
Marking the first time Allen has led a film that wasn’t his own in well over a decade, he plays as bookseller-turned-pimp to Turturro’s middle-aged neophyte hustler. The first look at footage is fairly charming and one may be surprised that Allen didn’t have a hand in the script, coming from Turturro himself. Check it out below, along with new photos.
Fading Gigolo premieres at TIFF, which kicks off on September 5th.
