With a release previously set for October and pushed at the last minute, we are finally getting the latest comedy from Role Models director David Wain early next year. His Wet Hot American Summer star Paul Rudd is back along with a cast including Jennifer Aniston, Malin Akerman, Justin Theroux and Alan Alda. It is also great to see longtime collaborator and co-writer with Wain here, Ken Marino, have a small role here.

His banter in this first trailer is the highlight and it looks like Aniston will continue with strong comedic roles after surprising in Horrible Bosses this summer. The second half of this trailer seems like Wain is continuing to riff off summer camp-type settings as seen in his cult classic Wet Hot American Summer (and even a bit in Models). All I want to know is if Elysium has something to do with Neill Blomkamp‘s upcoming film, but signs point to no. Check out the trailer below via Yahoo.

Synopsis:

George and Linda are an overextended, stressed out Manhattan couple. After George is downsized out of his job, they find themselves with only one option: to move in with George’s awful brother in Atlanta.

On the way there, George and Linda stumble upon Elysium, an idyllic community populated by colorful characters who embrace a different way of looking at things. Money? It can’t buy happiness. Careers? Who needs them? Clothes? Only if you want them.

Is Elysium the fresh start George and Linda need? Or will the change of perspective cause more problems than it solves?

Wanderlust hits theaters February 24th, 2012.
