Coming off Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to The Greek, director Nicholas Stoller has excelled at crafting smart comedy with heart. His latest looks to be leaning much towards the latter side, as we have the first trailer for The Five-Year Engagement. He re-teams with star and writing partner Jason Segel here, with a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Jacki Weaver and Rhys Ifans.

Following the couple on a continuously extended engagement, they look to have perfect chemistry and it has been awhile since we’ve seen a film that just looks this nice. A year ago we probably wouldn’t have expected the Bridesmaids name being used to sell a film as well, but here it is. Add in two of my favorite TV actors (Community‘s Brie and Parks & Rec‘s Pratt), and this is one of my most-anticipated spring releases. Check it out below via Yahoo along with new images and the poster.

Synopsis:

Beginning where most romantic comedies end, this film looks at what happens when an engaged couple keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.

The Five-Year Engagement hits theaters April 27th, 2012.
