“I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life,” Christian Bale recently said when it comes to the character of Moses in the upcoming Exodus: Gods and Kings. “He’s a very troubled and tumultuous man who fought greatly against God, against his calling.” While that aspect isn’t quite detailed in the trailers thus far, it does sound like a similar internal conflict with another Biblical character who was portrayed earlier this year.
With the film arriving in just about a month, 20th Century Fox have released the final trailer for Ridley Scott’s epic, which pits Bales’ Moses against Joel Edgerton‘s Ramses. This new preview shows off more footage of the massive flood that touches down, teasing a spectacle like few others this year. Check it out below for the film also starring Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, Ben Mendelsohn, John Turturro, and Aaron Paul.
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
Exodus: Gods and Kings arrives on December 12th.
