One wouldn’t exactly think Snakes on a Plane would be the catalyst to skyrocket some careers, but here we are six years later and we’re bringing news related to the forward movement from its creative team. First up, director David R. Ellis, who has since given us Shark Night 3D and The Final Destination, has been set by Paranormal Activity’s Blumhouse to direct a new horror thriller titled Sprawl. Unfortunately no details have been given, but I can only hope it involves both Arcade Fire songs.

Next up, Deadline also lets us know writer of Snakes, Sebastian Gutierrez, has been set to adapt Joe Haldeman‘s sci-fi novel Seasons for Columbia Pictures. A director has also been attached in the form of Tim Miller. The visual effects whiz has worked on many films, from X-Men to Where the Wild Things Are and was set to direct Deadpool before it fell apart, but if things go according to plan, hopefully this will mark his debut. The project, from a short story collection in 1985 follows on an “anthropological expedition to a planet with sentient humanoids that goes horribly awry.” Sounds like it could be some fun and we’ll update on both projects as they come in, but for now we can simply enjoy the clip below.
